'wie wir uns erinnern' Cover of Bachelor project 2025

At the end of my bachelor program at the university of applied sciences and arts lucerne I had the opportunity to spend two and a half months developing a larger Project. It consists of a booklet spanning six full page illustrations and information from interviews, as well as archival and on-location research.

The topic is my family’s history during the second world war, more specifically concerning my great-grandfather Heinrich Bohmann and his brother Theodor.

The idea for the project was developed after a conversation with my grandmother, where she told me about her experiences during the end of WW2 and the years after it.
It was the first time any of my relatives had told me of this time of their own volition and I realized that I knew astoundingly little about this time besides the big strokes and famous stories explained during history class.
